Two Factor Authentication for cPanelgozen
Everyone wants/needs their account to be as secure as possible, even using a random strong password your account can still be hacked.
Two Factor Authentication provides an extra step to access your cPanel account. In this guide, we will be discussing how to install, configure, and use Two Step Authentication plugin for cPanel/WHM in order to log into your cPanel account.
This plugin only works for cPanel as it does not provide the same security for WHM.
Two-factor authentication requires that you have root access and git installed to your server and Google Authentication app on your mobile device
Install Two Factor Authentication on your server
Installing Two Factor Authentication on your Server / VPS is quite easy, here we are going to provide you a step by step installation method.

Once the installation finishes then log into your WHM as root
Click the checkbox next to TwoStepAuth Security Policy and hit save.
Use the search bar or scroll down to Plugins to look up cPanel Two Step Auth. Click on it to proceed.
- Select the Enable radio option then click save. Once you have done this you may click Return.
- Now that plugin has enabled, log into your cPanel account and find the icon for two-step auth. Click on it to proceed.
- Once the plugin loads click enable and scan the QR code with your Google Authenticator app.
Next time you log into your cPanel account it will ask for a code after you have logged in with your username and password. Enter the six-digit code from your Google Authenticator app then click the TwoStepAuth_authenticate button.
