How to properly send your emails
How many emails can you send and what are the limits we have in place?
First, let’s clarify that we have zero tolerance for Spam! With that said, even if you are within the limits of your account, any spam reports we receive that concern your account are taken very seriously into consideration and examined quite thoroughly.
Now let’s see our limits, but keep reading this blog post as it gets more and more interesting by describing ways you can use it for your campaigns so you get better rates without breaking the rules and without getting into trouble or wasting your time.
For our, Business Hosting Plans the limits are quite large and it’s 200 emails per hour, per account (not per email box).
Does that sound not enough?
Well, if your needs are higher don’t hesitate to contact our sales to see what’s the next best solution for your needs, however, let’s take a look at some limits by famous ISPs.
- Gmail — Unlimited daily/weekly/monthly combined total
(but that’s also the reason why almost all of their IP’s are actually blacklisted since their services are getting totally abused) - Microsoft Outlook — 10,000 emails monthly
- Office 365 — 100 emails per month (there is more on that)
- Hotmail — 200 emails per day
- Yahoo Mail — 25 emails per hour
- AOL Mail — 1,500 emails per day (yet another blacklisted ISP)
- ProtonMail — 2,000 emails per year
- Posteo — 150 emails per month
- Zoho — 250 emails per week
Besides those limits, there’s another thing that we need to make sure we/you are protected and this is especially for our customers in the EU.
Personal Data Protection is where we need to focus, that can also be one of the reasons that your domain, email, or even IP gets blocked.
When you are sending emails to your colleagues, friends, or just your emailing list you can’t and you should not add their email address among others in the “TO” field.
Why is that so important?
When you put that information in the “TO” field, you are actually exposing personal data such as the email address of your list to everyone included in the list. This can become a serious security thread and this is why we are taking measures to minimize this for you, but there’s only so much we can do.
This is where common sense comes and you should either use a script that handles your emailing list and sends separate emails by using the “TO” field for each person registered to your email list or our servers will start complaining about you sending more than permitted emails and start to throttle your sending ability. Please keep in mind that our support personnel can assist you with all of this and remove all the communication hassle from your
